چکیده

Diffusion weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) technique probing the microscopic movement of water molecules in tissue, allows for quantification diffusivity and contribution perfusion to total amount water. In last decades, its use organs other than brain has increased it successfully been applied abdominal organs; otherwise DWI assessment (by measuring fraction edema apparent diffusion coefficient—ADC) entire is not a clinical standard. The aim this paper assess whether DWI, specifically IVIM, can accurately (the contained tissue) (liver, spleen, intestine kidneys) an endotoxemic porcine model. Endotoxemia was induced 20 piglets they were divided into three groups: HM group (HighMAP, mean arterial pressure maintained >65 mmHg by noradrenaline infusion), LM (LowMAP, MAP between 50 60 mmHg) LTD thoracic duct ligated increase edema). addition, fourth healthy controls (four animals) underwent MRI. Edema also assessed wet–dry weight liver, spleen intestine; hemodynamics, lactate concentration SvO2. ADC found be higher compared with groups, accordance weight. kidneys correlated glomerular filtration rate. f hemodynamics liver. presented data show that there potential septic patients.

Separation of diffusion and perfusion in intravoxel incoherent motion MR imaging.

Intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) imaging is a method the authors developed to visualize microscopic motions of water. In biologic tissues, these motions include molecular diffusion and microcirculation of blood in the capillary network. IVIM images are quantified by an apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), which integrates the effects of both diffusion and perfusion. The aim of this work was...

Intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted MR imaging in assessing and characterizing solitary pulmonary lesions

This study aimed to investigate the potential of intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) diffusion-weighted MR imaging in assessing solitary pulmonary lesions (SPLs). Sixty-two patients with pathologically confirmed SPLs, including 51 and 11 cases of malignant and benign lesions, respectively, were assessed. Diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) with 13 b values was used to derive apparent diffusion coe...

Utility of intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging in differentiating renal cell carcinoma from angiomyolipoma

We discussed the utility of intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging (IVIM-DWI) for discriminating clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) from angiomyolipoma (AML). Preoperative IVIM-DWI parameter (ADC,D, D and f) values were compared between the ccRCC (n = 37) and AML (n = 28) groups. AML exhibited significantly lower ADC ([1.35±0.29] × 10-3 mm2/s vs [1.77 ± 0.41] × 10-3 mm2/s)...

Intravoxel Incoherent Motion Diffusion-weighted Imaging: Evaluation of the Differentiation of Solid Hepatic Lesions

PURPOSE To evaluate whether intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM)-related parameters could be used to differentiate malignant from benign focal liver lesions (FLLs) and to improve diagnostic efficiency. METHODS Seventy-four patients with 75 lesions, including 51 malignant FLLs and 24 benign FLLs, underwent liver 3.0-T magnetic resonance imaging for routine examination sequences. IVIM diffusion-...

Intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted MR imaging of the liver using respiratory-cardiac double triggering

To investigate the influence of respiratory-cardiac double triggering (RCT) on intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) for the liver, twelve healthy volunteers underwent liver DWI twice respectively with respiratory triggering (RT) and RCT schemes. Signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) of the images, values, repeatability (evaluating with within-subject coefficient of varia...
